You know that feeling when you take a photo and think, “Wow, my camera is really bad”? Well, I used to experience that all the time!
It was grainy photos, shaky videos, boring selfies... Until one day I decided to fix it without spending a fortune on a new cell phone.
And the solution? An app to improve your camera. Or rather, two apps that changed everything for me!
My photos were bad (and I thought the problem was my phone)
I always wanted to take cool photos, but my camera never seemed to cooperate.
Like, I would see people posting perfect pictures on Instagram and I would think, “What’s the secret?”
Until I discovered that the problem wasn't my phone, but rather the right apps to boost the camera.
I tested several, but two were the ones that made the most difference: GCAM (Google Camera) and Footej Camera 2. So, check out how they saved my photography life!
GCAM (Google Camera): Makes any photo professional
First of all, if your phone doesn't take good photos at night or if the colors always come out a bit "bleh", GCAM can solve the problem. Seriously, it seems to add magic to the photo!
- Night Sight mode enhances nighttime photos without the need for flash (goodbye, blown-out photos!)
- HDR+ makes colors more vivid and details sharper
- Portrait Mode's background blur is ridiculous, it looks like a photo taken by a professional camera
Since I installed it, every photo I take comes out MUCH better, without needing any editing.
Oh, and you don't need to have a top-of-the-line phone to run it! There are optimized versions for various brands and models.
Footej Camera 2: Full control for those who enjoy manual adjustments
Now, if you enjoy tinkering with your camera settings like a professional photographer, Footej Camera 2 is perfect for you. With it, I learned how to:
- Adjust ISO and shutter speed to take brighter or darker photos
- Shoot shake-free videos with advanced stabilization
- Use RAW to edit photos later with maximum quality
The coolest thing is that it also improves the quality of the front camera, so my selfies finally started to look good!
And if you enjoy recording vlogs or stories, you'll love the option to record at 60 FPS, making the videos super cool.
I myself have done some travel shots that were worthy of professional production!
Other tips that saved my photos
In addition to using these apps, I started testing some simple tips that made ALL the difference:
- Clean the lens: It sounds silly, but seriously, a dirty lens can ruin your photo.
- Use natural light: Whenever possible, try to take photos during the day or near a window. This greatly improves the quality.
- Hold the cell phone firmly: Reduces the risk of blurry and blurry photos.
- Try new angles: Instead of always shooting head-on, try other perspectives.
By combining these tips with the right apps, my photos went from “so-so” to incredible!
My before and after photos: it looks like another camera!
The truth is that these two apps transformed my photos and videos without me having to spend a penny.
Today I can capture everything with much more quality, and even my friends ask if I changed my cell phone.
So, if you also feel that your camera could be better, download these apps on your Android or iOS, and try them out!
After a few clicks, you'll understand what I'm talking about. And then tell me: what was the biggest difference you noticed?
