I got into this trend by chance and, honestly, I didn't imagine it would be so addictive and creative.
The business is so simple and accessible that anyone can do it, and I'll show you what my experience was like from start to finish.
How this fever started for me
It all started with a video that appeared on my TikTok “For You”.
It was a girl showing several little dolls of her made with AI in different styles: futuristic princess, anime style version, magical warrior and even one with cyberpunk outfit.
I found the result surreal and beautiful and started researching how it was done.
I soon realized that it wasn't necessary to be an artist or know how to use Photoshop.
In fact, most of these creations came from online tools that use AI to generate images based on descriptions or photos.
And since I love poking around in these things, I decided to test it out too.
Creating my first AI puppet
My idea was to make a little doll that looked like me, but with a more stylized vibe, like an animated character.
So I went looking for tools that would allow this type of customization.
I found several, but I started with one that a lot of people were using: Reface, which has a really fun AI-based avatar creation mode.
Afterwards, I tested others like Fotor AI, which is also very easy to use, and Artbreeder, which became my favorite because it gives total freedom to adjust the character's features.
The process goes something like this:

I confess that, while I was adjusting my doll, I got excited.
I ended up creating two more: one as if it were an RPG character, with armor and sword, and another inspired by a cartoon I watched when I was a child.

What I learned from creating AI dolls
In addition to having fun, I learned that creativity flows much easier when you have tools at your fingertips.
Before, I thought that doing this kind of thing was something for people who studied art or design.
But now, with AI making everything easier, any idea can become an image in just a few clicks.
In fact, this game even helped me think about different projects, like maybe creating a small comic book or even a simple game with the characters I created.
